Become an Orpheus Domain Expert in Your Field
Orpheus covers 20 major collecting categories, and we are looking for a knowledgeable and well-connected Domain Expert for each one.
We are seeking specialists in areas such as paintings, antiques, watches, jewellery, sculpture, coins, rare books, classic cars, wine, photography, musical instruments, militaria, toys, memorabilia and other valuable collectibles.
We want Domain Experts who bring genuine knowledge, experience, credibility and contacts within their particular field.
You might be a dealer, collector, appraiser, consultant, writer, curator, auction specialist, industry professional or simply someone who has spent many years becoming highly knowledgeable and well connected in your specialty.
This does not need to be a full-time position. In fact, we expect many of our Domain Experts will continue with their existing businesses and professional activities while developing their presence and income through Orpheus.
As the Orpheus Domain Expert for your field, your objective is to help make Orpheus increasingly useful, authoritative and visible throughout your collecting community.
You will become our specialist in your field and help us understand the people, organizations, information sources, conversations and opportunities that matter.
Your activities can, but need not, include all of the following:
Help create informative and interesting content for collectors in your specialty.
This can include:
You do not have to write everything from scratch.
We encourage the intelligent use of AI tools to assist with research, drafting and editing. Your expertise provides the knowledge, judgment and credibility that AI alone cannot provide.
Articles can be published under your name and can link to your own website, business or professional services.
Help establish Orpheus within the online communities where people interested in your specialty already gather.
This may include LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, X, Substack, Medium, specialist forums, collector groups and other relevant communities.
Your role is not simply to advertise Orpheus. We want you to participate, answer questions, share useful information, contribute articles and build relationships.
Articles created for Orpheus can be adapted with AI for different social media platforms, substantially reducing the amount of work required.
An important part of your role is introducing Orpheus to the people who could benefit from it.
Depending on your specialty, this might include:
You may already know many of these people.
Many businesses and organizations already have hundreds or thousands of collectors among their clients, members or followers.
Help us identify and approach these organizations about introducing Orpheus to their audiences.
A gallery may have clients searching for particular artists. An auction house may have buyers looking for specific objects. A classic-car dealer may know collectors searching for particular models. A rare-book dealer may have customers who have been hunting for a particular edition for years.
Orpheus can help these organizations serve their clients—and they can help introduce Orpheus to people who need the service.
Building these relationships can be one of the most valuable parts of your role.
You know your specialty better than we do.
Help us discover the places where important objects appear.
This could include:
Your knowledge can help make Orpheus increasingly effective at finding rare objects within your specialty.
Introduce Orpheus to respected websites and organizations within your field.
Where appropriate, help us obtain links to Orpheus from relevant websites, clubs, associations, publications and businesses.
We will create reciprocal links.
You can also invite respected people you know to contribute articles to Orpheus. Their articles can credit them and link to their own websites or businesses.
Over time, this helps create an interconnected network of experts, organizations and useful information around your specialty.
Ultimately, Orpheus succeeds when people subscribe to our service.
Introduce Orpheus to collectors and professionals who regularly search for rare and difficult-to-find objects and need to find them before their competitors.
Encourage your clients, contacts, club members, professional associates and others who could genuinely benefit from Orpheus to try the service.
You will receive commission on qualifying subscriptions you help generate, so as your network grows, your recurring income can grow with it.
This relationship is intended to benefit you as well as Orpheus.
As a Domain Expert, you can have your own professional presence on Orpheus.
Depending upon your background and involvement, this can include:
We are not asking you to abandon or compete with your existing business. We want Orpheus to help strengthen it.
If you are an art consultant, Orpheus can link to your consultancy. If you own a gallery, it can link to your gallery. If you are an appraiser, dealer, author or specialist, visitors can discover your existing professional work through your Orpheus presence.
As Orpheus grows, your presence can introduce you to collectors, dealers, galleries, auction houses and others specifically interested in your field.
Experts help build Orpheus, and Orpheus helps build the experts’ professional presence.
We are an early-stage company, and this is designed initially as a part-time entrepreneurial opportunity rather than a conventional salaried position.
Domain Experts will receive:
The more successfully you develop your specialty, the greater the potential benefit to both you and Orpheus.
During your first few months, you might:
We are not looking for someone who simply waits for assignments.
We are looking for 20 entrepreneurial experts who know their fields and want to help build something new within them.
You should have genuine knowledge of your specialty and preferably an established reputation, business, network or professional presence within it.
Most importantly, you should enjoy sharing knowledge, meeting people, making introductions, writing or creating content, participating in your community and developing new opportunities.
You should also be comfortable using – or learning to use – AI to make much of this work faster and easier.
Orpheus is at an early stage.
Our objective is to have approximately 20 outstanding Domain Experts, each helping develop one major collecting specialty.
Over time, each specialist can become an important part of the Orpheus presence in their field while continuing to build their own independent reputation and business.
You bring the expertise, reputation, knowledge and relationships.
Orpheus provides the technology, platform, international audience and opportunity to participate in the growth you help create.
Please tell us:
If you know your field, know the people in it, and would enjoy helping build the Orpheus presence for your specialty, we would like to hear from you.
