ORPHEUS ALERTS comes from the perpetually creative mind of multiple-platform creator SCOTT WURTELE. Scott is always looking for ways to help people, and he has a unique history of putting people together.
In early ventures Scott paired people seeking justice with the lawyers who could help them; with a dive into innovation he gathered experts in diverse fields to come together and solve problems for corporations such a Proctor & Gamble, Syngenta, and Fujitsu.
More recent endeavors aided people with medical problems to find clinical trials offering potential new treatments. All his ventures come down to a deep drive that puts "you and you" together.
ALEXANDRA MARTINS is a curator and Director of Strategy & Communications based in Portugal, alongside independent work as an art historian, art advisor, and artist manager. Her career sits at the intersection of scholarship and the practical realities of the art market, from curating exhibitions to advising collectors and managing artist relationships. That combination gives her a grounded, first-hand understanding of how serious collectors evaluate opportunities and build trust, insight she brings directly into her work at Orpheus, from research-driven articles to partnership conversations with galleries and dealers.
JONATHAN KNOPP graduated from University with a BASc, Computer Engineering degree in 1998. A wizard at web development and programming, Jonathan has worked on all of Scott's websites, and still works on one of the sites Scott developed in the early 2000s. A perpetual learner, Jonathan excels at absorbing the latest skills needed in the incredibly fast-changing world of programming.
WENDY WURTELE’s studies included basic coding, typography, and graphic design. She built a business that served a premier tourist-driven community, creating products that ranged from rack cards to corporate identities to a monthly newspaper. She and Scott partnered to build multiple online platforms that connected professionals with laypeople, doctors with patients, and scientists with innovators.
WHY ORPHEUS? Seeker of hidden knowledge in Greek mythology, the name symbolizes the pursuit of what others cannot easily find. That’s why we chose "Orpheus" to represent our mission: uncovering rare opportunities, hidden intelligence, and valuable information from places conventional search cannot reach.
We are all excited about the opportunities to serve both sides of the art arena – the seekers and the suppliers, a win-win for both sides.
